DD1 is in year 10 and has just transfered from German to French Gcse. I have a French Summer aupair coming who will help with her French but DD wants to go on an exchange (but her school does not do them) or to a Language camp.
I dont know where to start looking,if anyone has any advice i would be most grateful.

sorry can't help, but interested in any replies - some time ago I read an article in a newsparpe about a farm in France where unaccompanied childrne could go for a hol and where alll the comunication was in French, but infuriatingly lost it and haven't been able to find by googling...

the alliance francaise might be a good starting point

duckyfuzz · 19/04/2010 16:59

or this sort of thing

DS2 and friend went on an UCPA training camp and returned fluent in French swear words.

It was a tennis camp - nothing military!

There was a company based in Wiltshire, who did one way French exchanges (i.e. it wasn't necessary for you to have the child back). Can't recall the name at moment, but google will probably find it.

When I was 17 I went on a 3 week language course at Caen university in Normandy in the summer holidays. I stayed in halls on campus but there was the option of staying with a family. The teaching was all in French and the students were from a range of countries, though few younger than me. I found it tremendously helpful in improving my written French - I never realy had much trouble with oral. I have forgotten it all now of course...

hello, I am a french mom living in the North of Normandy. I have 3 daughters, the oldest turning 16 in May, the others are 14 and 12 years old and a boy 9 years old. If our families have almost the same way of life and if the girls like to do the same things, we could try to make an exchange?
