Same names in a class

My 4 year old daughter is about to start school in sept. There is another Aimee (also spelt the same) starting in the class. I don't want her to be called by her first and last name right through school, so I was going to put her in with her first and middle name...so Aimee Lauren, so that she is different.
i have asked her about her thoughts and she she seems ok with it,
Anyone else have this problem or have a solution?
T
thanks

Serves you all right for choosing such common names

Strangely, I thought DS would never be the only Sam, but so far, throughout nursery and lower school (the school nursery, reception and Y1) he is the only one!

The double names in his class tend to be called by name + surname I think as DS has come home saying bethany smith this and bethany jones that.

At one stage my son's football team consisted of 5 Toms (with variatins). I just used to shout well done Tom when one of them had done well.

Double names in classes - if the name has a nn then often one is known by the nn and the other the fullversion. Otherwise it is first name and inital of surname. So Fred G and Fred S iyswim.

TBH unless you want her friends calling her Aimee Lauren forevermore then I wouldn't add the middle name. You never know one of you may move anyway!

I once had a class that had 3 Davids, 3 Pauls, 2 Rebeccas and 2 Bens in it. The 2 Bens had almost identical last names as well!

I once had 2 boys with the same first name and surname in my pre-school.
We managed by calling one Thomas and one Tom, with the parent's permission of course.
The difficulty came in things like accident forms, medicine forms and profiles as well as letter to parents.
We got round this by putting their dates of birth on all paperwork.
Ther will always be children with the same names in class. Just call her by whatever name you want and don't worry about anybody else.
I always find it's the adults that have the problems with the names, not the children.

My Ben (not shortened) had a Benjamin in his class and they shared the same surname although spelt differently. Because Benjamin had always been known as Ben too they were known as big Ben and little Ben (mine) Even in the office when I would phone if he was ill they would ask "is that big or little Ben?"
Now they are almost the same size but Ben is still little Ben

You will probaby find that teh children sort it out themselves. There are 5 Emilys and 4 Callums in my ds's year, and within a couple of weeks they were EJ, Emily+Last name and so on. The names have stuck and everyone always knows who they are talking about!

My DS is bessie mates with a boy with the same name - both have same initial for surname so get caled by full names

My DS calles the other boy by his full name which makes me as he woldn't be talking about himself, would he?

I went all through school with DCs in the class having the same name. It didn't bother me. If you have a common name you expect it. What really makes me smile is the parent who thinks they have chosen an uncommon name and then finds another in the same class-they really don't like it! Those with Ben, Emma etc half expect it anyway.

I was one of three Alison G's in my class at school. Which is why I am now aig!
