Sex Education - 4 year old dd, 7 year old ds

A teacher at school is pregnant, both have asked how the baby got there, very interested to see the bump has got bigger.

Fine with dd age 4, we have the Usborne Flip Flap Body Book which explains about eggs and sperms and the baby is pushed out.

I have the Usborne pocket scientist book for my 7 year old ds, it goes into more detail and explains briefly about sex (not read it to him yet) - I just told him that parents 'make the baby' and he said "do they make the heart?" then I explained about eggs and sperms, and he seemed satisfied (for now) when I said they just make babies with their bodies, without going into details.

How have others answered the question for 7 year olds?

when my oldest asks (8) about all this I just say, it's all a bit complex, can i tell you when you are a bit older? and she says 'ok'

what a cop out

I know my days are numbered.....

other dd (6) has never asked

Seriously tarty? My dd would never accept that something would be told to her later, she needs instant answers. She is 8.10

Ds(6) asked last night how the tadpole got into the Mummy's tummy, I told him the tadpoles are in Daddy's willy. He's read Mummy Laid an egg but every 4-6 months he remembers the question and asks again. We have a secret pact - we don't talk to classmates about sex because it's up to parent to decide when they decide to tell their kids about this stuff, just like some kids believe in the Easter Bunny and you don't tell them the truth either.
