That aren't too obviously 'educational'?

These are for my recep dd (Yr 1 in Sept) who definitely needs a bit of extra help in maths particularly - she doesn't really 'get' it.

I thought of Dominoes? Any more suggestions?

shops?? and play money so they have to do adding and subtraction etc

any game involving a dice would be good. Is she working on addition/subtraction (i cant remember what they do at what age anymore)

if you will allow her to go on the PC I have a CDrom of Counting & Sorting which is suitable for ages 3-5 although in my opinion up to 7 would be more accurate. I can send it to you

My ds is in reception, i asked the teacher if she had any suggestions & she said mental maths.

bingo
dot-to-dots
playing shops, with 1p 2p and 5p pieces
songs like "Ten Green Bottles"

The workbooks you can get are not very pressured and they usually have pages of ideas for activities at the back - for instance, try "number stories": "There were 6 mice in the garden. A cat came and frightened 4 away. So there were only 2 little mice left." That could be a good long-holiday-drive activity!
