Have been told by creche that its basically a reduction of ?48.50 per week. My dd is in fulltime creche with Montessori. Haven't made it to creche since Christmas because the roads have been too bad, but was told there was aform to sign and that was it.

ah we are the same here , dd is only starting back in Montessori tomorrow , she's been off since 22nd dec , i will probably get handed a letter to sign in the morning , at the moment her teacher has asked for an extra 22.50 euro per week , so much for the free preschool year eh ,

mais if your dd is in full time Montessori then you should be entitled to 64.50euro reduction per week ?

Spoke to creche owner the other day, she said it works out at ?48.50, maybe I need to do some research. Thanks It would be great if it worked out at a bit more.

^"Parents will be able to avail of this ECCE scheme for their children on a 50 week or a 38 week per year basis.

Under the 50 week scheme the government will contribute ?48.50 per week for 50 weeks. This covers the cost of 2 hours 15 minutes childcare per day for 5 days per week or 3 hours 45 minutes per day for 3 days per week to children who register and qualify for the scheme.

Under the 38 week scheme the government will contribute ?64.50 for 3 hours per day for 5 days per week to children who are registered and qualify."^

Maybe I need to ask about the 38 week scheme as she will be starting school in September so doesn't need 50 week scheme

hi mais , sorry i didn't get a chance to log on yesterday , yes mais i definitely think you should do your own bit of research , i had a little chat with my dd's Montessori teacher this morning regards the extra fee of 22.50 per week she wanted me to pay , the minute i mentioned i would have to ring the scheme she said " oh yes now i remember yes it'll be free for biggirls jr as she is only in for 3 hours per day five days a week " OK so she had a very convenient case of memory loss but at least dd will actually get the rest of the year free now , goes to show though that if you don't pull them up on things they are happy to rip parents off , dd also starts primary school in sept ,
mais i have a list of numbers of the ecce scheme for every centre all over Ireland , just let me know if you want their number & they are really nice & helpful .
