I am moving to godalming and am undecided whether to bother applying for a private school when the local state schools look so good. Any one got any recommendations. thanks

What stage of school are you looking for? There are many good Infant/Junior/Primary schools depending on area. Then the main secondary schools are Broadwater and Rodborough. Rodborough has a much better reputation I think, but I haven't any personal experience of either. Godalming College is always in the local paper for great results.

If you say the age range you're interested in, there's bound to be a local MNer with experience around!

welcome to Godalming-you will need to watch out for catchment areas-can you give a hint whereabouts you`ll be?

Hi there - just jumping in on this old post. We're thinking of moving to Farncombe (on the Godalming side - around 10min walk away) and we're wondering which schools we would be within the catchment of - can anyone tell me how I find out? I've looked on individual school websites, but it's hard to tell. I also notice that there are both primary and junior schools in the area, which seems unusual.
Any tips on local schools would be much appreciated - thanks in advance.

Broadwater has a great head teacher and a huge amount of support for children of varying abilities. Google their Ican unit extra support for Pupils who need it.
They are also an ICT College.
In my experience a really good school giving children a well rounded start to life.

Zombie thread!

BroadwaterRocks are you trying to do a Queen Ethelburga's here? It won't end nicely.
