Hi - serial lurker here!

I am currently appealing to have my 4yr old ds attend the same school as my 8yr old dd. I don't hold out much hope (long story)so I'm having to consider other options just in case.

I'm stuck between a good rural primary 3 miles from my dd's school and another good rural primary further away from dd's school but nearer to our home (if that makes sense)

First school: good since it may be easier form drop offs/pick ups and since it feeds the same secondary as dd's school does. 30 per class, mixed year groups.

Second school: good since having friends round etc may be more convenient, small classes (20), mixed year groups. However, it feeds a different secondary school.

Hopefully, ds will get a place at dd's school within next few years at least, but nothing's certain. What jumps out at you with these two schools on the face of it?

2nd school sounds nicer.

Where will they go to secondary? Near school 1 or 2?

1st school sounds a better fit TBH, the location and the fact that it feeds into the same secondary school. Is that a good secondary school?

Secondary school is fractionally nearer school 1. We live in the middle, between school 1 and school 2. Secondary school is fractionally nearer school 1. Yes, it is a good secondary!

Although school 2 may (perhaps!) suit ds better NOW, I am concerned that if he does need to stay there until year 6, he would end up going to a secondary school with no friends!!
