Aquila? Not specifically for maths and science but covers these topics.

nrich has a monthly online magazine with problems targeted at different key stages.

nrich is a maths site by the way.

National Geographic "Kids" is good but no maths really

There used to be 'horrible science' magazines along the same lines as the books, but they seem to have stopped now.

If you have a reasonable understanding of science my 4 year old loves new scientist. Although sometime the explaination is more fun then original story eg methane found on mars became stinky farts found on mars. It depends on the age group and ability of child. The new scientist books such as why don't polar bears get lonely are good but not really what you are looking for.

Your 4 yo reads the New Scientist?

DS gets National Geographic Kids, and he also enjoys children's puzzle books, which although aren't like school maths really, do have logic problems like su doku and the more wordy ones.

Did check the nat geo and the discovery box. Think will choose db. Does your ds like nat geo? Can you buy single issue in the shops? or can be loaned from the library?

Yep, with a bit of help and explaination and only if the subject catches his imagination. H saw a picture of the particle excelerator in swizterland (spelling gone today) and thinks it would be cool to work there as a particle physist. He discovered gravity at 3. I think we can probably summize that he may be found to be G&T in science when he starts school in sept.
We get single issues from a good news agent and help into town for a large supermarket with good magazine supply.
We occasionally get nat geo kids but doesn't cross over with his space obsession enough. would recogmend it though.

ah should quantify his reading not really up to reading article -listening to new scientist and looking at pics might be more accurate
