ggirl, how do the kids like it? Have you found it useful for kid's learning, or is it just some fun games?

I won a 3 year sub on a MN competition and I think it is really good. Lots of schools use it too.

DS1 (5.5) loves the activities and they seem to tie in really well with the curriculum. For example in Y1 maths they start to learn about money and there are quite a few related activities.

mommyg- ds loves it ,although we've had it for 2 yrs now so he goes through phases of using it more .I think the fact they use it in school may be what makes him ,sometimes, more attracted to other sites when he's at home.
I would recommend it as it's not that ££ is it,although we're lucky enough to get ours paid for .

GossipMonger · 17/03/2009 13:31

We have it as someone gave it to us for free!

My younger one loves it but ds1 (6y) finds it a bit boring as he has done all the games now.

I am going to get him to do Y3 work and see if it stimulates him though.

Would recommend.

Yes very useful for llearning ,it is easy for them to self correct and not get fed up.You can also change your levels if they are finding it too easy or hard.

madwomanintheattic · 17/03/2009 13:37

infant school uses it to set homework.

the year level seems a bit low to me but mine are a bit, um, precocious (ds1 yr 2 was trying the yr6+ stuff yesterday lol - not with a huge amount of success) so it has taken a while to get the right level sorted. school can do it easily as they just set the homework from the range, but if you are paying for a subscription it is worth considering looking at which year you are claiming your ds is born in lol. i think you are allowed to move up or down twice a year? but if your kids are anything other than joe average it's a bit trickier. (not that there is any such thing lol, just joe average in terms of whatever the NC says)

it's ok - the dcs like it. don't know how old ds is but i personally wouldn't pay for the yr r stuff. i think it is a waste of money for that age group.

we use it quite a lot (we home ed), it's good in that you can be at different levels in different subjects (so DD3 is doing Y5 Science, but Y2 English for example).
definately worht using the free trial (and they extend it a couple of times as well) before paying out. I you use an existing member's "Tell a Friend" code, both you and they get a free three months.

poopscoop · 17/03/2009 13:58

we are on the free trial at the moment. so far so good.

daddylee · 15/11/2009 18:59

Hi, just paid for Education city as my son loves it so much. You can get 3 months free if you use this code on the tell a friend page: H7396A4G .Hope this helps someone give it a try

DS finds it a bit dull tbh, and a bit schooly, though I suppose that's the point. We tried it as we heard about it on here, but he's not convinced and neither am I. Prefer the BBC stuff. But there's no harm trying the free trial, as all kids are different.

Our school uses Education City every day on our Interactive Whiteboards and the kids and staff love it.Our Parent Council pays for it each year and we have just increased the package to include Science as this can be so difficult to teach in a Primary School.
