Hi :-) It's me again. ds skipped a year at his old school, he's now gone back into his age group in his new school but is getting work he's already done. Would you say anything to his teacher?

Or let him get on with it. He didn't have a problem with it last time (old school) so I know he'll find it easy. What would you do?

TIA. Avenanap.

How old is ds ? I would mention it to the teacher, she may be able to give him some extension work to strech him. Seems daft him doing the same stuff twice. Why has he gone back?

I would wait and see first. See if the school notices or assesses him. If they don't, then remind them that he was in Year X at his last school and then ask what they can do about him repeating stuff.
Hope he is enjoying his new school.

ds is 9. They know that he's a very bright boy and is repeating this year so that he's back with his age group. He skipped a year last year at his old school, they had a new head ds and I didn't like, the head didn't like ds (there are threads about this) so I moved him. The new school wanted him back with his own age group. He's being assessed alot and I don't want to be the pushy mum IYKWIM.

He is enjoying it (thank goodness). Thankyou for asking.

Well if he is happy and the school have a good understanding of his intelligence and know he is repeating a year I would leave him be. If he starts getting bored or becomes naughty I would push for different work. ?
