Will be starting new job full time in new term(primary). Although I am an experienced teacher I havehad a gap since teaching in aprimary school.Panic starting to set in because I am doubting that I will be able to cope with the demands of paperwork, especailly showing evidence of planning/ personalised learning / targets etc etc.

Also, ICT worries..... are interactive whiteboards that different to using a computer? Can I practise using any of the IWB software on my computer at home this summer?

Any current primary school teachers, please advise me re. the type of weekly planning paperwork that you are now required to produce. There seems to belong term planning availableon line to download, also medium term planning: but what do you have to produce each week re. your literacy and numeracy ? Is it left up to youto produce notes that suit you, that you keep on file for yourself(and any future performance management orinspection) or is there a moreformal need in your school for all teachers to produce perfect, detailed advanced weekly plans?

Is it acceptable to write your notes in your standard teacher's planner( the ring bound kind provided with a page per day) to supplement with any medium term plans, or is that not enough in terms of planning? I know that for assessment there would be additional records kept on an on going basis. It is the weekly stuff required that I am wondering about.

At my school we are required to produce detailed plans for English and Maths that include all daily activities and how they will be differentiated eg task, outcome, support.

We also have to include AFL and how eg observation, focussed questions, whiteboard activities etc.

Each lessson then has to be evaluated, noting children who has not met outcomes and how this will be addressed.

Has the school introduced the Primary Framework for English/Maths? This will have an effect on the planning. All schools are different though so I would check with them what they expect.

With regards the interactive whiteboards, we have only had them since January and we find that we have only scrtached the surface of the things thay can do. I am sire the ICT coordinator will be able to give you a crash course.

Hope this helps
By the way, I am not a skiving teacher, I am on maternity leave"!
