am actually really pleased with her new school and i think she is after having to literally bundle her into the back of a taxi screaming and kicking!!! she is very shy apparently ! i am sure the women in tesco would agree with her!
dd1 came round in the taxi as soon as she saw that her new school had a slide and a climbing frame in the playground and stopped screaming. she was still very shy though!! i wasnt sure that i had done the right by not putting her into the school attatched to her nursery. but we are moving and it would be a long walk every morning from our new house! but i love this school now!
we had a meeting with the headteacher and were told that the school is in the top 10% in the country, having been in the bottom 20% 5 years ago (they got a new head) and are aiming to be in the top 5% in the next three years! they even do french classes (not sure if other primarys do that now too but they didnt when i was there!)!
after coming back from the meeting dd1 was giving a presentation to all her new class members, using the interactive white board (it was about mushrooms, she says) and her new teacher knew all about me and dp and dd2 and even the dog and her dancing teacher. i did tell you how shy she is didnt i?
we had lunch there and she has now decided that she would like to stay for school dinners so that she can have scrumble (apple crumble) which is easier for me, she had been insisting to stay for packed lunches!
she is still insisting that she is very shy and wont make new friends, oh and she will miss her boyfriend but am more confident that she will settle now!!!
