Maths websites for getting ahead before September?

Trying to get a bit ahead with maths before the new school year starts, mainly so September is less of a shock.

I've been looking at www.khanacademy.org and mathstutor.me so far. Both seem useful in different ways, but I'd like a few more parent-tested recommendations before settling into a routine.

What maths sites or apps have actually worked for your children? Ideally something good for short regular practice rather than long lessons.

If it’s primary, sign up for White Rose. If it’s secondary, hire a tutor.

I wouldn’t bother no one does this during the holidays. It’s a time to relax from school. They’ll pick it up once they start again in September

It’s definitely not true that nobody does this. Plenty of people like to keep their dc up and running in the holidays. I teach in a school on a relatively disadvantaged area. Nobody has a tutor but parents use workbooks and do things online.

How old are your children?

We do the doodle maths summer challenge ( primary and early secondary)

Have they gone over everything from last year so they know exactly how to do the maths in preparation for everything new to come ?

Not all children are doing well with doing absolutely nothing for 6 weeks. Some need structure, some could do with catching up, some feel much more confident if they have an idea what is going to be taught.
20 minutes a day aren’t going to destroy their summer holidays (if they do, there is something bigger at play), so why not make sure they stay up to date? we read daily, we do maths daily. And once you are past year 1and 2, cooking and shopping really doesn’t cover the maths curriculum anymore.
Many kids loose a lot of learning over summer, for no good reason.
