depends entirely on the child, the school and the circumstances.

so its not frowned upon TOO heavily if say child was 4, end of ks1 year and twas the last 10 days of summer term?

what do they do in the last weeks? am i depriving him of some thing academically vital?

Check your school policy - some authorise up to 2 weeks of holidays in a school year, others (like ours) have a zero tolerance approach.

Bit confused tho - how can 4 year old be at end of KS1? Even if zero tolerance approach school not statutory before 5 so you can probably do what you like.

4 at end of ks1 ?

You can do it in our area but it will go down as unauthorised absence.
