Experiences of boarding and teaching at Clifton College senior school?

My daughter has been offered a boarding place for year 9 at Clifton College in Bristol. She is academic and sporty. We don’t know much about the school except from our quick visit there. Can anyone whose children attend the senior school give me an insight into the boarding side of things and the teaching please. Thank you.

Fantastic for sporty kids assuming she likes the sports on offer. Lots of facilities, sports physiotherapy on site, great coaching. Good track record on getting sports scholarships to universities in the US if that’s a consideration. The teenagers I know there all seem happy.

Thank you so much for your feedback. Most appreciated. I’m after some opinions on the academics too if anyone has any idea. They look good on paper.

My children are there and love it. It’s very sporty, lots of matches for every sport, extra training if they are on sports scholarships throughout the year. Plus nutrition and physio support.
What did you want to know re academics? It’s not the most academic school in Bristol but results are good. Small class sizes.
all of mine have boarded at some point so can help with that as well if needed.

The teaching is good - small class sizes, lots of extra support when it comes to revision, great facilities and library.

It doesn’t get the best academic results of the Bristol private schools, but that makes sense - it’s not academically selective at all in the lower years, so the intake is going to be less academic than say Bristol grammar school. Also you’re less likely to get parents that are really pushing for the top grades.

But the kids that are academic do very well.
