Darell, Sheen Mount, Holy Trinity, Marshgate, and The Vineyard?

Hi everyone! We are moving to East Sheen and looking to transition our two daughters (currently Reception and Year 3) from a diverse London prep school to a local state primary.
As a British born mixed Chinese family, it’s really important to us that they land in a nurturing, multiculturally diverse environment where they can continue to feel confident in their identity.
We are specifically looking at Darell, Sheen Mount, Holy Trinity, Marshgate, and The Vineyard.
-Which of these schools has the most "international" or diverse feel?
-How is the support for sensitive children transitioning mid-year?
-Are there any other schools we should consider?
Any insights or local advice would be so appreciated!

East sheen primary is amazing.

Are you religious catholic or church of England? Non catholic at a Catholic school can feel off. Church of England schools are more relaxed.

All the schools in the area are great. The area is quite varied in terms of nationality. The area tends to be wealthy parents. Be prepared for kids on those schools to go private at prep age or secondary.

Look at the nearest. Vineyard is a long way from East Sheen and traffic hell so don't drive there.

I’d guess it’s about half state secondary, half private (both selective and non-selective), with a small number of grammar school. Is that the norm for this area?

I think the percentage of children going on to private school will vary hugely between the schools you've listed. I would guess they will all be fairly diverse.

I only have experience of Darell but I can tell you that it is a very friendly school. My daughter was there absolutely years ago but my next door neighbours have children there and it seems just as lovely as ever.

Having said that, go for your closest school! Your children will have local friends and you won't have to get a bus or get stuck in traffic every day. There are no bad schools in the borough.

The amount going private varies from class to class, and I think fewer are because the costs are rising (possibly why you are looing at state schooling?). https://findmyschool.uk/best-primary-schools/richmond-upon-thames gives general info (no more than us here really!).

Thinking longer term: If you live in Sheen the journey to Tiffin and Sutton borough grammars is difficult by public transport, there are no direct services due to Richmond Park and the train line routes. Many drive through Richmond park, but expect that to be stopped in the next few years.

If you expect to go to a grammar school move to Kingston or Wimbledon for primary school (both lovely). Tiffin girls has a high percentage of Asian kids. New Malden is a centre for Korean folks.

It's a shame the London Schools Atlas is no longer updated. I suspect the results are similar though. If you click on a primary school you can see where pupils went to secondary (with %). Data from 2017: https://apps.london.gov.uk/schools/#Sheen%20Mount%20Primary%20School/1324

Exactly what I’m thinking. We love the East Sheen area. And it would be great if the girls could get into Tiffin, however the commute from East Sheen wouldn’t be very convenient.
Well, if they can’t get into Tiffin, the emotional cost of choosing the area mainly for the school would feel too high.
