People who talk about independant or grammer schools ...
Yes I know I should know better - I am a teacher after all.

Ah - I see. You mean the spelling of them???

Desiderata · 18/06/2008 22:05

I hope you mean the spelling of them.

You are a teacher, after all ...

Like I said, I've been drinking. There are so many people on here who talk about the independant schools their kids are in. Should be on pedants' thread I guess. Local school fees are 12k plus. For that, I'd hope ds was mixing with kids whose parents could spell independent. I only get bolshy after red wine so do feel free to ignore me. As a governor, I have seen people applying for headships with Batchelor of Education degrees. Now that's really worrying!

I'm still missing the point

Hulababy · 18/06/2008 22:09

TBH though I wouldn't use Mn as a good example of people's normal spelling. Many people on here just type really fast and often mistype things. I know I do very often. Doesn;t mean I don;t know how to spell really.

swedishmum · 18/06/2008 22:12

It's a spelling thing. That's all . Like I said, my middle class roots emerge after red wine.

Actually, what really winds me up (real life and MN) is teachers who make mistakes with its and it's.

Have seen this a lot at work recently - from the tutor reports. I have an urge to correct!
