A Level post 18

My daughter missed out on much of her secondary education due to ill- health. She would like to study for a 2nd A Level at the age of 19.
Does anyone have any advice about how to do this? Local colleges are for under 18s.
Also, can anyone recommend any online courses ie Oxbridge or nec?
Any other ideas/ suggestions v welcome.
Thank you!

Worth asking your local FE college, my dd is at college with a girl who took a year away for health reasons and so is studying 17-19 rather than 16-18, they also run a year for kids who have just missed gcse grades who do 3 years at 6th form.

School sixth forms only get funding for 16-19 year olds; funding is different from 19, so it's harder to find places that take older students.

What is her longer-term plan? It might be worth exploring other options such as access courses or BTECs. If she wants to head to university later, and knows what she wants to study, it may be a good idea to seek advice from potential universities about what they might accept in lieu of A-levels.

Open University courses do not require A-levels, so if they cover what she wants to study, and studying from home would suit her, that might be a good option, and she could get started without needing to do another A-level. Their courses do not assume very much prior knowledge, so gaps from her disrupted education would probably be filled more easily.

What does she want to study and then do? She could look at Access courses instead.

Thank you all for your replies. Really appreciate it.
I didn't realise that OU doesn't require A Levels so I'll look into that.
I've never heard of Access courses, so will explore that too.
My daughter is already doing an extra year at 6th form- the school have been amazing.
Many thanks!
