I have just been asked at very short notice to cover 2 weeks of adult literacy classes starting next week. It is about 10 years since I have taught (gulp) and am up against it to get my planning done. Can anyone recommend any websites I can grab a couple of plans from to get me started? I think it would take me longer than a week just to search all the google results! Thanks.

Very quickly, here's a few faves. Will add more later. Hope the links work..

Sorry, have realised that these are materials/activities rather than plans.

The last link has worksheets you can print off..will have a think about where you can find plans.

I'm more of an ESOL teacher and there are lots of good ESOL lesson plan sites...

If you have the luxury of computers with your learners I would definitely use the interactive resources above.

The skillsworkshop one is brilliant and has lesson plans as well as ideas and worksheets. What level will you be teaching? I also use www.senteacher.org and www.woodlands-junior.kent.sch.uk for fantastic interactive resources (KS1 and KS2 relate well to Entry level 1-3. Good luck!

I am also training to do ESOL, so any links to that would be very welcome too. Many thanks for these links - I will have fun with them

Also see talent.ac.uk which has loads of resources and lesson plans too I think. You have to register but there is loads of stuff on there

Teachit teachit.co.uk
and Teachit world www.teachit.co.uk/index.asp?CurrMenu=381
