Online a levels

Has anyone's DC recently done or doing online A levels? I need to get something sorted for my DD but I'm finding it hard to understand the different options. We want somewhere that ideally she can watch actual recorded lessons as well as get all the course materials and have access to a tutor for marking work and support. So not a full online school with set timings but also not a course what just gives you the books and you have to teach yourself.

Is what we want offered anywhere? Or alternatively can anyone please explain what they're doing/did and if they would recommend?

Looking at similar. Yes it’s possible. For my DD she also needs a human to track her progress and talk to (she did online GCSEs). What subjects is your DD doing? When figuring out costs you need to factor in paying for exam centres, and if doing sciences, a practical lab week. Am not at home right now but if someone else doesn’t supply, can add the courses we are considering. Am also going through EHCP process as DD is unwell.

Someone I know has a DC who is using Kings Interhigh. They say it is very good but I think it is £££ (they said not far off private school fees but I think that depends on the private school). This is GCSE but I think it offers A levels.

An alternative might be private tutoring for individual subjects – I have worked with A level candidates and I would say two hours 1-1 a week would be fine for my subject - obvs with a good deal of Hw and practice. Price would vary for this depending on where you are but I think £50 ph is probably a reasonable ballpark. Tho that would be as much as Interhigh tbh.

Thanks both that's really helpful. @clary
I just looked at kings inter, that maybe the sort of thing. A personal tutor could possibly also work but I'm not sure how to go about finding people for that especially across different subjects and it could end up super expensive by the sound of it.

@DeQuin sorry to hear your DD is unwell. Mine struggles with school environment due to social anxiety. I'm not sure on subjects she's still choosing but not science. Probably maths, psychology and she'd like criminology but it seems not offered much so maybe economics.
