I wanted to know if it is possible to get into oxbridge medical school with most Grade 8s, some Grade 9s and one grade 7. I mean I have heard that almost all successful applicants get majority of Grade 9s and one or two Grade 8s in their GCSE. Please let me know if you have actually seen applicants with one or two Grade u receive an offer from oxbridge medical school. Thanks

GCSE grades are not as important as predicted A-level grades, aptitude test performance, interview, UCAS statement, super curriculars but all things being equal, they will be considered.

Super curriculars are not of much interest, unless they're related to the subject you are applying for.

Ditto gcses.

Your GCSE history grade isn't that relevant if you are applying to read mathematics.

Super curriculars are very much what O&C are looking for, but not extra curriculars. They want you to demonstrate your interest in your subject by having studied it in some way outside of your A level courses. Dd had five Oxford interviews this year and was asked questions about her supercurriculars at every single one.

I think in fairness that's what the pp meant in saying unless they are related to the subject.

Yes this. So for medicine, what have you read, what further study have you done related to the course.

Played violin or captain of the footy team? Not so much (tho ofc those are worthwhile to do for their own sake and bc you like them).

You are quite right. I've spent the whole of dinner at a friend's house knowing I had posted something inaccurate.
