An enquiry about whether any others out there have any experience of having a DD at CLC. Mine is taking GCSE this academic year and is expected to do super well. Loves all subjects STEM. She is in private day at present but is so keen to board for sixth form. CLC looks absolutely stunning on all the websites. Any tips, thoughts or advice on having a high-achieving girl board there? She is also massively into team sports btw.

It's very academic but I'm not sure how strong team sports are. I watched my daughter's school play them at cricket this summer and the CLC team was mediocre at best. What about Rugby School?

We haven’t sent our DD there, boarding isn’t for us, but friends have sent and loved it. It’s very academic and also sporty for those who want it to be

MrPickles73 Rugby is amazing I agree but I definitely want her t have single sex until Uni. She has thrived in her current all-girls boarding (Heathfield) and I think she needs to continue with that. Regardless private education gives sooo much more than the state sector and it has been super amazing for her.

My daughter is in year 10 at CLC. We love it. Academic but very well rounded.

Our daughter is about to sit GCSEs at CLC having moved from another independent after a torrid experience. It is the best move we ever made. The teaching is excellent, the girls are excellent - I cannot fault it one bit. And in regards to hothouse type comments - not in our experience. The teaching is pupil centric so they get the best out of the girls by looking at what they need to improve their own individual results. Apologies to the poster who suggests a one off cricket team experience defines a school - I am laughing out loud at this. Plenty of girls are in national and regional sports teams if that is what you are after.
