Bredon, Wycliffe or Rencombe

Cotswolds parents. I would really appreciate some feedback. Child has an EHCP, severely dyslexic, with processing issues and handwriting. Where would you recommend? Bredon, Rencombe or Wycliffe?

Not sure about Bredon. Rendcomb have a great reputation for their EHCP support, but I would recommend early application as they are very popular for EHCP applicants and so there is a lot of competition for spaces. Wycliffe are good also, but depending on age of your child I would be checking for longevity of the school - there are rumours of changes being made to the Prep School.

Absolutely Bredon. It's specialist for a reason and is a wonderful place.

I would not recommend Wycliffe. They market themselves as being a good choice for additional needs, nurturing etc but the reality is they had just one SEN teacher for the whole prep when we looked around ( who was leaving). Our child was being assessed for ( what turned out to be mild) ADHD and they gave us no confidence that they could meet his needs and were more concerned that his joining might upset the dynamics of the existing class ( of 9 children!). This was knowing we wanted to move him due to him being bullied at the state school.

Thought they were your baby name
choices for a split second…

Me too! I’m just relieved that they’re not!

Definitely Bredon. Lovely school and properly set up to help kids with additional needs.
