Math Programs

I'm looking for a math program for my kid going into middle school. Originally we had him in an international school so we didn't have to worry too much about his math but now we are switching him to a local public school and we want to keep his math going. Any thoughts? His teacher recommended Kumon but I personally am not a big fan of it. His tutor recommended Beestar, would that be a more suitable type for following a curriculum?

mathswhizz is decent and has a built-in assessment. it goes up to UK year 8. if he's working ahead of age he might run out of content in less than one year. go for a free trial or monthly subscription rather than annual.
IXL also has a built-in assessment - it'll let you see where he is and provide practice at that level, but won't "teach". the assessment is good - I found it to be accurate but I'm not a big fan of their exercises - too many repetitions required and no ability for the parent/adult to tailor this.
Conquermaths is also solid and covers most of the secondary curriculum up to year 12.
if he has a flair for maths, the top couple of years of Beast Academy are pitched at those with maths talent (but would probably frustrate average learners).
Kumon is based on heavy repetition. it supports average/struggling learners but I wouldn't recommend it for anyone to whom maths comes easily, as the degree of repetition would drive them bananas.

Do a search, there have been a surprising number of threads recently regarding kumon v beestar.
