how much can you earn as a supply teacher?

trying to come up with some alternative solutions for DH to be able to stay home more with DD.

How much approx does a supply teacher earn a day outside of london?

He needs to work out what scale point he is on, and the authority should be able to give him an hourly rate.
IME schools pay varying amounts, re. hours worked. The best I have found is 6 1/2 hours for a full day. For this you are expected to do marking and evaluation of your day.
I find supply works really well for me. No staying after school, planning etc.

It's whatever his scale point would be divided by £190. So for example if he was on the top of the ordinary M Scale he would get £132 per day. If he's on the bottom of the M scale he'd get less and if he's progressed throught he upper thresholds then he'd get more

This is the supply agencies for the LEA I live near. SESSA . It is an LEA run agency.

It pays a salary based on the set teaching rates, and at same pay scales.

So, for example if your DH worked 5 days a week, every school week through them he would earn exactly the same as if he was employed FT in a school. The daily rate is higher than he would get now, to take into account the holidays. They also contribute to the pension scheme.

yes what he is on now divided by 190....depends on local authority on split between morning and afternoon work. here they split it 50-50 so you are beeter off doing afternoons as it's less hours but same money as mornings.
