Just curious. As an English teacher, I always get “how can I get her/him to read more?”

Not a teacher (and wouldn’t be if they paid me a million dollars) but as a parent I always ask how can I help my kids at home?

Can we get more homework for DC

You don't give enough homework.

Usually - Why did you give them X on their report…how can they move up…
I’ve been there a while so I also get a lot of ‘that’s not what we did on history in my school, I did…’ followed by ‘I think you taught me’!!

Do you have an answer for that? Asking for a friend 😁

Used to be 'Do you teach grammar and spelling?' Yes, I did.

Would a teacher judge me for asking why 5 yo is not moving up a book band? She's been on Yellow since November and rattles them off fast and fluently and can then retell the whole story. I feel like she's not being challenged at all.

id say get them in eg waterstones and find some books they want to read, rather than what we think they should read
