ABS Cobham vs Independent schools (IB vs. A level)

Hi everyone,
We’re planning to move to London in September from Istanbul as a family. Our son is 12 yr old. We were a bit late for admissions however had an offer from Kew House school. Also he will be in the waiting list at Radnor House.
Other than these two, we also visited ACS Cobham, different system, international school. We liked the facilities. However IB vs. A level system puzzles my mind a little since we’re planning for our son to go to the university in UK.
Do you know how are the acceptance rates for IB students in UK Russell group universities?
Or any experience of moving from ACS to an independent school?
We think during the transition he may feel better in a more international environment. Also we liked the school (ACS) but we don’t want to make a decision that would affect his academic life.
Thanks a lot!

This shows the IB/Alevel equivalency for a uni picked at random:

IB is well recognised in the UK.

@sera8313 , could you start him at ACS Cobham and remain on the Radnor WL and move him at Year 9 to Radnor (by which time you will know when Radnor are moving to the new site in Whitton).
If you go for Kew House you will most certainly end up moving him to a more academic school once he has caught up so don't imagine he would spend 7 years there. The current Radnor site is tiny as you know so the spacious campus with loads of clubs at ACS might make the transition easier.
If you live in East Molesey you can drive to Cobham and get a public bus to Radnor in Twickenham.

Hello, thank you so much for your guidance. Yes Radnor House will definitely be a more favorable option once it moves to the new location. Unfortunately its current building is old and the rooms are quite small as you mentioned. I’ve also noted East Molesey and will definitely look into it. Thanks again!

Thank you very much, the link you shared is really a practical guide. I believe traditionally British schools and A Levels are more common but as far as I understand IB is also a valid option.
