Bullied Daughter & Home Education

I'll keep this short, otherwise it'll be an extremely long rant!

I've pulled my daughter (15) out of school due to the continuous bullying for the last 16 months (not been back since Christmas).

The school seem less interested in dealing with these bullies.

The school has threatened me with court action & have told them to go ahead.

I've kept a detailed diary of abuse.

I've enquired about homeschooling which they seem reluctant to do.

My daughter finds criminology interesting but won't achieve the GCSE's to study this (now is her final year).

Can you study criminology at college without GCSE requirements?

I've Googled this but coming up with different answers!

To give her a head start, I've been looking online & found Let's Talk About Criminology Online Education 14-16.

I've read the reviews but wondering if anyone here has used this guy?

I've tried extremely hard not to swear & rant on here.

It seems the school authorities don't give a rats botty (that's me putting it politely) about bullied kids in their school.

My daughter is one of many who's be pulled out of this school.

First of all, it’s totally up to you whether you homeschool or not. Your LA will be able to signpost you to how you go about it. Once you confirm it, the school will cease to be involved with your DD.
If your DD doesn’t achieve the required GCSEs she can retake them at college when she’s 16. This may be more suited to her compared with school. She does need a good set of GCSEs to study further though. Criminology isnt easy, at a minimum she would need GCSE English.

You won't get help with homeschooling , are you meaning EOTAS due to mh? Given timescales is a tutor for key gcse subjects a possibility or a revision course? She should have covered enough of the syllabus by now to pass some gcses. Could she resit at college if needs be and take three years for level 3. Or a Access course at 18.

Have you officially withdrawn your DD from school? If so it's up to you now to home educate her not the school or authorities. You can look at sitting GCSE's as a private candidate or she can retake them (probably just English and Maths) at college.

You would be better off asking the college she's hoping to go to. They may offer a foundation level course she could take next year along with maths & English GCSE that would give her the qualifications for the criminology course.

Is she still registered with the school or not? If she is will they allow her to go in just to sit the exams? Granted she might not get good enough grades in everything but she might just pass enough to be able to do something in college and resit her maths & English if she needs to.

Have you written to your school and told them your home schooling? Your post isn’t very clear.
