Best London prep school for child with hearing impairment

Hello,

I am looking to move my sone from the state sector to the private sector as soon as possible. He is in Year 1. He has a hearing impairment which has led to delayed speech and some frustration when he can't say what he needs. But his hearing is definitely good enough for him to be in a mainstream school.

Would anyone be able to recommend a great private pre-prep / prep school with a really caring ethos and amazing and understanding support, please? Somewhere with a lovely outdoor space would be a plus.

Can consider relocating if we need to, so we are looking London wide.

Thank you so much.

If you'd consider slightly north of London, Manor Lodge Welcome to Manor Lodge | Private Education for Girls & Boys in Hertfordshire is wonderful and has a few children with hearing impairments. If you'd rather be in London itself then have a look at White House in Clapham The White House Prep School | A Co-Ed Independent School in London, it's again a lovely school, with small class sizes

Thanks @xmasdealhunter . You're right - small class sizes are a must for us too and I should have mentioned that. Thanks very much for your recommendations. I will follow them both up. Sophie

Have a look at Westbrook Hay - half an hour into Euston. Small class sizes, very outdoorsy (25 acres) and I know two children with hearing impairments who have been through the school.

It has recently announced it’s going through to 16 though so not sure how much 11+ or 13+ they will be doing moving forward. Leaver results have historically been great though. Children heading off to a wide range of schools (local independents, boarding, state, grammar and vocational). Works to find the schools of best fit as opposed to being a feeder.

Don’t be put off by all the staff recruitment there at present though - this is a reflection of the school gearing up for it’s first Y9 and not because staff are leaving 😂😂

I'm sorry to be off topic and give advice if not needed, but i assume you've considered a cochlear implant for him if he doesn't have one?
