Reduced timetable

Have a meeting with school about my child's reduced timetable.
What are the rules for this can it be extended? Or will they force them back into full time. They are still struggling with anxiety. And meltdowns. The reduced timetable has helped a little I'm worried if they push and i have no choice. Everything we have achieved the last few weeks will have been for nothing.

How old is the child ?

Am I reading it right that you want the PT attendance to be continued and you are worried the school might try to make them go back FT, as opposed to the other way round where you are cross they have imposed reduced hours ?

Who was involved in setting up this arrangement in the first place?

Child psychologist SenCo, 1.1 and the principal.

All pupils are entitled to a suitable full-time education. If DC can’t attend school full-time, alternative provision should be made as well as part time school. On its own, a part time timetable should not be used long term. Only where full-time education (in any form, not the limited provision many schools and LAs think) is not in a child’s best interests is part-time provision acceptable. So, I would push for part-time school to continue, but other provision also provided.

Does DC have an EHCP? If not, request an EHCNA. If they already have an EHCP, have you requested an early review?
