Dropped out of college- what now?

Looking for some supportive advice please for my daughter. She didn’t get into her sixth form of choice so we ended up getting a place at college, for a Level 2 course.
She was so unhappy and crying every day going in. She has now de-registered and is working part time. Just don’t know where to go from here. There aren’t any other courses she is interested in.
Does she have to do a level 2 qualification?

She genuinely seems happier in a workplace, although there may not be as many career prospects.

She could do a level 3 apprenticeship, which is equivalent to 2 A-Levels. A level 2 apprenticeship would be equivalent to GCSEs. There are lots to scroll through (by career type) here Browse by your interests – Find an apprenticeship – GOV.UK

Did she not get gcses? Most progress onto a level 3 if they meet entry criteria or may start one and resit English and Maths alongside if not.

If she is doing a level 2 course, did she pass english and maths? If not that could really hamper her going forward.

If not in education then her child benefit will cease, but otherwise no one will complain much.

She did a resit for Maths, don’t know till next year if she passed. She’s got English GCSE, and got 5’s in most other ones apart from Maths.

What was upsetting her? There are alternative qualifications, but they won't help if college is the issue. If the college itself isn't the problem, has she discussed options with the careers/options advisers at the college?

What is she interested in pursuing, with 5s A level are a stretch but she could aim for a level 3 nvq/T level/btec especially if she passes maths. Apprenticeships do require one day of study as well as work though, often at a college or online provider.

Some children just struggle with it all. My niece resat maths and English GCSE and passed finally and is also now working. She's doing some sort of practical qualification that qualifies that she can do part time through a college.
