Hi everyone,
We’re currently looking for the right school for our son, who will be starting reception in September 2026, and have narrowed our options down to Wetherby Kensington (WK) and Brighton College Prep Kensington (BCPK).
Wetherby Kensington is boys-only, with a smaller footprint and limited outdoor space. It seems to have a strong academic and exam focus, with good reviews and enthusiastic support from parents.
On the other hand, Brighton College Prep Kensington felt vibrant and energetic during our visit and is spacious and very well equipped. The children were confident and articulate, and the school has the added benefit of a large garden. Logistically, it’s also easier for us, as it runs through to age 13, whereas WK would require a transition to Wetherby Prep after four years.
We’d love to hear any insights you might have about BCPK in particular, as Wetherby’s offering seems well-documented and clear. Since Brighton College only took over the school last year, there’s less of a track record available, and we’re keen to understand parent's real experience there.
Academically, our son seems to be progressing well, so we’re more inclined towards a school that offers a well-rounded education so he can thrive on other matters too. Based on that, BCPK feels like a strong contender, but we’ve struggled to find much feedback so far.
Any advice, experiences, or insights would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance!
