Good day everyone. We are moving in New Maulden area form where Commb school for girls is 0.9 miles away. My daughter is year 9. I am wondering if it will be easy for her to get in year admission in year 9 and how long waiting period should i expect? if not what other schools will be alloted to her? any input on Raynes park school!

thank you.

You will need to contact Kingston council for that information.

Raynes Park High does not have a good reputation around here. But this is often from people who have no personal experience of the school. However, I have two friends whose children have ended up there and have had good experiences, so if the waitlist for Coombe Girls is long, I would recommend you visiting the school for yourself.

You could also look at Ricard's and the Ursuline in Wimbledon and both Holy Cross. They are both catholic schools but admit non-catholics if they have space.

This is an in-year application - unless it's a designated grammar school, a Catholic school with a place available and no-one ranked higher on its waiting list when a non-catholic applies cannot turn that DC down because it's waiting for someone with a Certificate of Carholic Practice or whatever to come along.

Yes, that's what I meant when I said that they would "admit non-catholics if they have a place".
