Recommended company to do online Level2 Functional skills in English and Maths

Hello,
My daughter failed her GCSE Maths and English. She needs to retake them for her college course and they will accept Level 2 functional skills. Ive looked at various companies to study and sit exams online and was looking for a recommendation for companies you may have used already.
Thank you.

Is it not possible for her to study them alongside her college course?

Most colleges run these alongside the courses. Are they saying that she has to have the qualifications in advance or gain them to pass the full course? She should be fully funded to re-take at college too, so I'd double check, as students entering college without GCSE's in Maths and English is fairly common place.

@SarahFH1

Which course would she like to take at college, OP?

BeMintBee · 07/09/2024 17:22

DS is retaking maths but will do this at college alongside his course. Some children who didn’t achieve any GCSE’s or nothing above level 2 are attending just for the English and maths and will start their chosen course next year. Are you sure the college are not offering functional English and Maths?

I would suggest looking at the National Careers Service find a course page, you'll be able to find a reputable provider there. They will always be fully funded so look out for those that look for payment.

Her college will have functional skills. Local authority FE departments for
Adult learning will also run it for free for 19+

My local council have a ten week fast track course, with am/pm/evening class choices and if the ten weeks isn't enough they just keep people going until ready for exam.

Find a way to do them at college, it's very common for them to help strugglers at GCSE and she'll get much more support that way.

Thanks everyone for your answers.
We live in Spain, so my daughter did her IGCSE's in school here, they do not offer Functional skills in any schools over here, so I thought she could do them online rather than retake the IGCSE at school. I ended up going with passfunctionalskills after some more research. She has started today and can take the exam online from home. fingers crossed...started with English.
Thanks everyone

She is doing an art foundation course with OCAD, online via a school here.

Sorry for jumping on the post. My sons college aren't able to provide gcse or functional skills English this year, I've been looking at 'the learning college' for functional skills English level 2? Does anyone have any experience of them or anywhere else that would offer online English gcse or functional skills?

My son is home schooled and we went with Intech Centre in London for Functional Skills exams. I bought the online courses and exams. He failed and retook the Reading exam but overall he passed both Mathematics and English in 2 months.
