Has anyone taken online GCSEs as an adult?

If so could you recommend a company, and how did you find it? How much time did you spend studying?

Looking for Maths, English and possibly Science.

Thanks in advance!

My second recommendation today for the National Extension College, which I worked with in a consultancy capacity a few years ago. The information here includes all subjects offered, including maths, English language, English literature, physics, chemistry and biology, and indicative study times: https://www.nec.ac.uk/course-categories/gcses/.

Customer reviews here: https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/nec.ac.uk.

Good luck, whatever you decide to do 😊

National Extension College is rated "Excellent" with 4.5 / 5 on Trustpilot

If you don't have Maths & English at grade 4/C you should be able to find tuition for free (unless you are the age for 3rd year of 6th form, when you can't unless at a college doing a full time course).

@TeenDivided would that be in person or online?

I have never taken any GCSEs and I'd like to keep the costs down!

Further Education colleges will deliver this in person free if you have no previous gcse or level 2 equivalent in English and Maths. Some other providers may also have government funding to deliver them for free in other local venues under an Adult Learning contract - google "Adult Learning in x area" or there may be publicity at local libraries.

adult education centre’s do functional skills for maths, English and ict. The functional skills level 2 is equivalent to a GCSE level 4.

These can be done over 20 weeks and sometimes fast track of 10 weeks, and are free for those who like me who don’t have the equivalent qualifications (and are a lot easier).

Thanks for all your replies

I think I need the actual GCSEs, not an equivalent, because I'm thinking of training to teach, I have a degree, just no GCSEs! Frustrating
