DS watching films at school…

Hi my DS is 7 and I’m starting to get concerned about his school. He’s apparently watched lots of movies at school, old and new, from Sonic 2 to Inside Out. It’s difficult to have a movie night without seeing a movie that he has already seen. I can name a lot more movies; Christmas movies, minions, kung fu panda… yep, according to him, he’s watched them ALL. Even worse they aren’t really educational.
Help?

Ask the teacher to clarify.

It's quite likely they were put on at lunchtime because there's minimal mid-day supervisors and given all the torrential rain and winds we've had. I doubt he's seen the whole film but if confused surely the best thing to do is speak to the teacher?

Agree my dc has watched many too.
Even ag secondary.
Comparatively i never watched nay movie at school.
History gcse went to see schindlers list though.
Xmas i could vaguely understand but end of every half term hard no.
And in fact probably strongly impacted on me going on holiday over last day of term as i knew no wprk would be done!!

Check with school? Has he actually watched them? Or does he not want to do a family movie night so says he's seen them to avoid it? Or are they put on at lunchtime in bad weather?

Just ask school.

They always put films on at DS’s school at lunch when it’s too rainy to play outside.

Hellocatshome · 10/04/2024 19:18

Sounds like rainy day lunctime/break activities and/or end of term treats. I very much doubt they are watching movies when they have major time pressures to get the curriculum covered.

Thanks for the replies everyone! He has stated that it is often on in rainy lunchtime. Although… they sometimes play it on mornings. He does often finish them. I will try to speak to the school but I might look like a fool lol

It will be wet play. There is a playtime in the morning too! They could just about get through a film in two days if it was wet play all 4 play times.

The teachers won't like it either- wet play is horrendous. I usually take mine out regardless, unless it's torrential, but my class all have wellies and rain wear in school all the time.
