Best way to thank my DC's school?

My youngest DC is in year 13 so will be leaving school in a few months. I've had at least one of my children in the same secondary school since 2009 so this feels like the end of an era. Nowhere is perfect of course and we have had a few minor bumps in the road but overall it's been great and my children have been very happy there.
We've been very lucky to have such a great local school and my children have been largely protected from the problems facing so many state schools.
I'd like to mark the end of our connection to the school and express my gratitude but I'm not sure what is best to do. I don't have a massive budget, probably about £200. I guess I could just give a cheque and leave them to spend it how they want but I kind of want to give something specific but unsure what. I'm thinking maybe some books for the library, sports or music equipment, or maybe something to benefit the staff but I can't think what!
Anyone got any ideas? Teachers, what would you appreciate?

What a lovely idea! I’m sure cards with your appreciation expressed directly to any teachers who’ve been particularly helpful will be gladly received, perhaps including one to the head to thank them overall for the school’s support. Other than that, maybe ask the school directly? There could be something they’d like for the staff room e.g., coffee pods if they have a machine, nice tea bags, a basket of fruit/ sandwiches/ biscuits from one of the companies that delivers to workplaces, or similar.

Just though too, my husband is a teacher and there was one time a parent bought them all takeaway pizza!

I tend to think you need to decide if your gift is for teachers or for the DC. A pizza seems a bit like 10 minutes of fun but no lasting benefit. 10 minutes after eating they won’t remember who bought it. We inherited a piano and gave that! It was put in a music practice room.

Do you have a prize day? Could you give a prize for 20 years? Or a perpetual trophy for something? Books are also welcome but fiction might be best - doesn’t go out of date! Or is there something your DCs enjoyed where something useful could be purchased?
