Hulme Hall GS - Stockport

Hi all I’m looking for some advice regarding Hulme Hall grammar school in Stockport , does anyone have a child who goes here ? Would you recommend it ?
Im not looking for an independent school because of the academic side of things , I’m looking for my daughter who has developmental language disorder. She is behind academic wise several school years - Covid didn’t help this at all , as she had no diagnosis at the time no extra provisions were made for her to receive any help during this time .
she does have an EHCP .
shes due to start secondary school in September , I feel like it’s a mind field of where’s the best environment for her to not get swallowed up by a huge school and receive the additional support she requires . I like the idea that it’s a much smaller school, smaller class sizes and I know they are supposed to be very good with children with additional needs , weather it’s just sen provision and additional support or ehcps are in place .
Id just love actual parents perspectives of experience they have had / having . If you recommend the school ? or alternatively if anybody has any other schools I should look at specifically in the area ?
As it stands it’s looking like she will go to CHHS - but I’m just worried this is too big / overwhelming and she’s going to get swallowed up .
Any feedback from any schools / parents / send parents I really would appreciate as I am totally lost right now .
Thankyou xx

My DS doesn't attend here but was on our list for consideration as he is currently in yr 6 so I can only offer you my experiences of 2 parents evenings, a taster day, an assessment day and an interview with the head! The school appears to be a really welcoming and nurturing place with an emphasis on helping your child to reach their potential, whatever that may be, by guiding and supporting them, rather than pressuring them and they appear to achieve really good results. Although it's not selective, they still made a point to us that educational achievement is important to them, but I dont know whether this was directed at us as part of the sales pitch, as DS is good academically. I really liked the school and the head and all the staff we met along the way and had a bit of a heavy heart turning it down but it just wasn't right for DS. They do have places available still for yr 7 so give them a call, I'm sure they'll be happy to see you and have a chat. Hopefully some parents of children who actually attend will answer to confirm (or otherwise).

My daughter attends Hulme Hall and we are very happy with it. The children are very happy in school and my child is thriving socially and academically. She doesn’t have any SEN or need extra support but some of her friends do and from what I see the support available is amazing. Small groups for extra maths and English lessons if they need it. But the class
sizes are small anyway and many children do not access the extra classes.

They really do care about mental health and confidence building. But they absolutely do encourage them academically and have high expectations from my child who is performing very well. I can’t fault our experience so far it’s a very unique and welcoming school.
