I'm 39 and have got admitted into CCC for LLB . I know its not a highly ranked university. Can anyone tell me how easy it is to transfer in year 2 /year 3 to university of kent. Or what are the prospects of Masters from a better university?

In your particular case, if you have a place on the LLB at Canterbury Christ Church to start this autumn, I would focus on putting all your energies into the course and doing your best to get a First. I wouldn't spend time fretting about how to transfer to another University in year 2 or 3. Complete your course at CCC.

What are you hoping to do after completing the LLB?

Did you apply to Kent and were rejected? Transferring won't necessarily be easy and you shouldn't rely on it. Getting a place on a masters shouldn't be a problem though as long as you get at 2:2 or 1st.

I rather foolishly went to CCU after seeing it had higher access requirements than Kent - I was told this was because of the prowess it holds in teaching and how more students go on to work as they had a course that had placements. By the time I got to third year these placements no longer existed (worth checking with current students) and I am convinced half of the cohort had way below the offer which as many admitted to not having done A'Levels but worked in a related field. It was a nightmare as a lot of these students needed a LOT of extra help so lecturers had to stop to explain basics repeatedly all the way up to Y3. The peer group didn't ask questions or add to seminars. Actively argumentative in group work with people storming in and out like teenagers despite being largely over 30...Somehow the ones that didn't drop out all passed and it actually scares me that they are working in the sector after hearing some shocking religious beliefs and admission of breaking the law in the workplace that went completely unchecked by the lecturers. I am sorry to say I couldn't recommend it.
