Anyone has idea of the above schools? How is the learning environment ? Are students and teachers in good atmosphere?
I am looking for a school with academic standard, not too pushy while offering all round education
Thanks

Oh goodness me, definitely The Abbey. Queen Anne's is in freefall at the moment, though they do a fairly good job of pulling the wool over the eyes of prospective parents.
A few years back, they lost almost all their heads of department in one year. Standards have fallen considerably since then and the new head is even more unpopular than the last, which says a LOT!

The Abbey - yes
It is an academic school, unashamedly so, so may seem pushy. DD went there and thrived. Good balance across academic subjects - strong in science and languages, sports and subjects like drama. Does A levels and IB.

At QA there will be all the disadvantages of a boarding school for day girls, ie the school day & week is set for boarding so late finishes. The Abbey is a straight day school.

Freefall? As a current parent of a child who is excelling academically, I'm not sure where that view has been garnered. People often comment on schools they seem to have no first hand experience with, and it is not only damaging, but can make difficult decisions even harder to make.
When we were looking for schools, we were undecided between two 'lower ranking contenders' on here. The comments I read at the time were absurd. From the 'feeder for 11plus failures on one (our daughter scored in the top 1%, so was hardly a failure) to ridiculous comments of not being pushy enough at QA. Students are pushed as much as they need to be. Our daughter has clear expectations from her teachers, they know her well and know what she is capable of. We visited both the Abbey and QA and many other schools besides, and QA was simply the right fit. It felt right, and 'academics' featured fairly low down on our list of priorities. With two children already through school, both who thrived and excelled in their subjects, I am so glad that being 'pushy' was never high on our agenda.
