Visit from santa - does your school have one?

at our school the PTA have always funded presents which are given out after the Christmas party. The food at the party is provided by parents, drink and crackers by the PTA. This year Santa didn't arrive. While my oldest child was not bothered the younger one wondered if they had been too naughty for Father Christmas. I believe children at all the local schools get something and I know our PTA are not sure of money - they just weren't organised. I wondered what your schools did?

At our school we have FC at the Christmas Fayre, and KS1 children get to visit during the school day if they choose to - charge of £1.50.

In addition FC comes and gives presents to the children on last day of term. These are funded solely by the PTA.

we have father christmas at the fair for a charge, too. I felt so cross I rang up someone on the committee and was told that didn't realise they had to organise the party. It was only later I remembered he was part of the committee when I organised the party

Ds1 is in reception. The parents supplied the food for the party while the school provided the drinks. Each child had a Christmas present which they were given at the end of the party. I don't know if Father Christmas went to the school as ds1 doesn't tell me these things. There was no Fr Christmas at the Christmas Fayre.

My dad and the care-taker have all taken on the role of the big man at my mother's school.

I'd have twisted my husband's arm to do it if they'd been desperate for a volunteer but it wasn't that. They made a bit of a mess of the fair too - we had to cover two stalls when I'd only offered to do an hour on one. This is not a school that has been unable to run stalls before. If they'd told the parents in advance Father Christmas wasn't coming I wouldn't be angry. We could all have agreed on the same explanation!

Santa comes to our school but doesn't bring individual presents - each classroom will get a couple of large presents ie lego, software, books which are funded bt the PTA.

I can remember Santa Claus coming to my school and everyone got an Uncle Remus kit!

Our school PTA does the party and Santa visits at the end, for free. 8yo dd has never yet twigged that it's our next door neighbour!!!

dd was away yesterday due to chicken pox and missed santa, but a friend dropped off her present today. Father xmas pencil and rubber. She was thrilled and amazed all at the same time. Cute.

when I did it we just went to a local toy store, gave them numbers in each class and agreed a budget. They then wrapped and labelled them. Cost very little more than the presents unwrapped and was simple for everyone. So it isn't even as if there was any work involved beyond collecting the presents and arrnaging Santa. Even though we are moving house and I'm very busy I'd have ordered/ collected the presents if they'd asked. Interesting that everyone's school ( except our)seems to have given the children something!
