I would quite like to do an A-level or two... can I do them without going to a college?

perhaps in philosophy or physics or something...
I am a bit bored!
I have always enjoyed learning, I already have a degree and a Phd (not used, cos I'm a primary teacher), and now that I only work part-time I feel I need to learn stuff again!
So does anyone know if I can do an A-level or something without going to a college? Committing to an evening a week is quite hard with dh's unpredicatble hours.

I teach A-level Physics, and with our board, it is not possible to do as a private candidate.

The main thing is doing the practical element. The rest is very straightforward.

You may have a local independent school that will process your exam entries, though.

not sure they offer what you want

Or

this looks better

Google distance learning and a levels and there are loads. Check out the provider first as there are a few cowboys. I used to work for a training provider so if you want some advice give me a shout.

What about an OU course? The OU would have summer schools to cover the practical element of a science course.

This course looks interesting.

I did my A Levels at local secondary schools and was surprised by the support given by both teachers and fellow students. Although perhaps not a conventional choice, it worked for me
