I've got a DD at WHS. I also know many girls at PHS and G&L. Not really at FHSS.
I would say G&L perceived as slightly more academic and therefore harder to get into that WHS and PHS and then FHSS slightly below that but all changes a bit year on year. Girls will get into some and not others and not necessarily the ones you'd think.
All pretty academic although not all girls will be amazing at everything.
PHS probably thought of as the sportiest but they are big on lacrosse which not many schools play. Rowing big at both WHS/PHS and WHS definitely getting sportier. (DD not at all sporty so not really involved in it much as she is now older). All the schools will have lots of music, drama and sport.
Would expect them all to have good learning support as well.
Can only peak re WHS but happy with the 'vibe'. Nice parents, nice girls in general. A few hard party types but not the majority. I think it's fairly similar at PHS.
Would say (but only via friends with daughters there) that G&L is a bit more hardcore socially - and more uber ambitious parents with lots of money/central London lifestyles etc.
All good schools though but all hard to get into so probably need some easier options as well.
We chose WHS because DD liked it as did I. She didn't like PHS (no real reason- could have been the purple uniform!). I wasn't keen on G&L- purely on the open day, and that was primarily because of the other parents I met and various other reasons. Didn't look at FHSS. However I'm sure she would have been fine at any of them-just had to narrow it down a bit! Other people would have completely different views- best to look round them all and see where she actually gets in! We came from a State Primary- no real idea where she sat in her cohort.
