Hi , we are relocating to UK in July and we are exploring an in-year school admission/year 5 for our son. Wanted some recommendations on which areas would be best to live in this Northwood / Pinner / Harrow area so we can get a good primary school and best his chances to get into a secondary school in year 7. Thank you

Avoid Harrow. Northwood and Pinner are both very nice. Not sure about the schools in Pinner, I'm only familiar with Nower Hill Secondary which is pretty good apparently.

Northwood Primaries are all pretty good. There's Hillside, Frithwood, Holy Trinity, Harlyn. You really need to go and visit them to get a feel. For example, Holy Trinity is quite small and attached to the church next door, whereas Harlyn is huge in comparison.

Secondary schools in Northwood are mainly Hayden and the newer Northwood High, which I hear good things about.

Thank you so much @Laffinalltheway, I am also leaning towards Northwood and list of schools you have shared is super helpful.

Not really sure why the previous poster is telling you to avoid Harrow. It is a perfectly nice place with good and not so good areas like any other London borough.
Pinner is in the borough of Harrow, Northwood in Hillingdon.
With regards to secondary schools, Nower Hill and Pinner High are very popular. With Pinner high I think the catchment is quite small so you have to live pretty close.
Many people like to live in HA5, as you would prob get into Nower Hill and is also in the outer catchment for Watford Grammar. Hatch end used to a be pretty popular place to live.
For upto date info I would go on the harrow council website and have a look at distances you need to be to get into the secondary school of your choice and base your criteria on that. I think the majority of primary schools in Harrow are good anyway.
Some children in the borough also go to the other Herefordshire schools(e.g St Clement Danes) or catholic schools( Joan of Arc).

Sorry, I wasn't talking about the borough of Harrow, I was being a bit more localised without being specific. The not so nice areas I was thinking about are, Harrow Town centre, as in College Road (especially around HOTH station), Station Road, St. Annes etc. Also, South Harrow around Northolt Road, Wealdstone etc.

And yes, I know there are some nice areas like Harrow on the Hill, although I find it pretty soulless, Harrow Weald, parts of North Harrow...
Like you say the borough of Harrow does have some lovely parts, Hatch End, Pinner, Kenton, I think Stanmore comes under Harrow...
