Hi
is there anybody who can guide me, my daughter got a 100% bursary from a couple of schools. She is the first one in our family who is going to a Private school. I am worried about how likely is to revoke the bursary in terms of academics. I am not worried about her behavior. I never went to school in this country. I would like to hear anyone who can help me in this journey.
many thanks

Wow, you're very lucky to get a 100% bursary as these are very rare.

Have a conversation with the school about your concerns.

They will have to confirm the bursary to you and the terms in writing. It is usual to get a confirmation of the bursary each academic year so you know your position e..g in August.

Well done to her! (And you; it takes a lot of effort and stress to make this happen.) I don’t think you need worry much, @mina33. The fact that she’s been offered two suggests that she is ‘objectively’ impressive, academically and in terms of personal qualities. Our experience at a major prep and public school is that as long as she progresses within ‘normal’ parameters they’ll be happy. (And they will almost certainly factor in a period of adjustment where her academic performance might drop.) Our bursary child certainly wasn’t expected to be constantly top of the class or anything like that!

A significant improvement in your finances is far more likely to trigger a revision of the award.

As you say you are not worried about her behaviour, this suggests that she is generally hard-working and well-behaved. This is exactly what they will expect so just tell her to keep up the good work and congratulations!
