Moving schools and phonics

Hi all!

we are in the process of buying a new house and as a result my son who is currently in reception will be moving school.. having looked into the school(s) in the area I have noticed that they all use a different phonics scheme then what he is currently doing at school. The new school he will be going to would have done 11 extra 2/3 letter sounds then what he would have done… would this put him at a disadvantage from the ofset or do schools generally have a way of helping him catch up so to be on the same level quite quickly?

thanks!

He'll be fine.

They aren't taught something once and then never look at it again. There is constant retrieval practice and re teaching with phonics
