Can anyone recommend a touch typing course for children (in person- not online) . My 10 year d son's school has been recommending he needs to do one for his dyspraxia

English Type Junior is what my very dyslexic DD used.

My dc10 with dyslexia has just started Touch Type Read and Spell and I used a discount code from their Facebook page to get 25% off.

No idea how to bribe parent my child into actually doing it though.

Oh sorry I didn't understand the bit about in person - this is a online module based programme.

I learned to touch type in primary I did 15/20 mins an evening and it was very boring, however invaluable as, due to my dyslexia I used computers a lot so it meant I could type very quickly without looking and it’s still helping me now 35 years later so worth it, I was just told to do it (mum taught me just with her stuff from college as she was admin & thought it would help me)

Ah sorry, missed the in person bit. We did it during lockdown so online was only option. To be fair, DD was very keen on the ability to win new clothes for the avatar in the programme and so it was hard to convince her that it was better to do the course over a number of weeks and not complete the whole thing in one huge binge session!

There are in person courses for kids here: www.touchtypingforkids.co.uk/

You could try this. I found it on Google. www.typingscool.co.uk/

Can your school/council link you up with any support? My son has a person who visits him at school every so often from a county visual support team and they do a bit of typing with him using an online course, and then he works through the stages by himself when he has spare time in the classroom (before registration) or at home.

Where are you based?
If in London, my son learnt here www.amandamcleod.org/
They're in Pimlico.

@Brugmansia thank you! Have booked it as exactly what we want
