In dd's (age 7) reading book - something to do with dinosaurs hatching.Can anyone enlighten me?

Ni-di-few-gus. Never heard of it, but I guess it means leaving/fleeing the nest.

Yes, just searched and definition: ADJ of birds leaving the nest shortly after hatching (or pterodactyls in this case)
