Hi
We are thinking of sending our 9 year old dyslexic boy to Bruern Abbey. Would love to chat to any current or past parents of the school.
We live about 45 minutes away so considering boarding or day. Ideally we would like him to board.
Obviously it is a massive expense which we are happy to pay if he'll be happy and get the support he needs.
Any thoughts either way of going or staying in the local mainstream school?
He is quite a sensitive boy and struggles with friendships. So pulling him away from his friends is going to be tough. But he is working about 2 years behind his peers. And so want to get him the help he needs.

I believe this is very much their strength cushionsarelife. They have a significant percentage of ND boys with PDA and other profiles. I also know they have recruited staff recently who want to use their skills to care for the boys flexibly and effectively but have been restricted in the way they can do so in other settings hence moving to Bruern,

Thanks. We are at the taster day stage now. I’m gutted that John Floyd is leaving an it’s a massive gamble to join when the school is going through this huge change. I think everybody is praying the transition is smooth!!
