Adobe creative suite

Hi
I have worked in assistant/secretarial positions before. I do have uni degrees but it's in business so not relevant.
I want to try to switch into doing something creative like design while I'm a SAHM (ive always been into drawing but never completed anything in that).
Best way to learn it and maybe get a certificate?
Thank you

I'd recommend lots of tutorials - the Adobe CC ones are great. And give yourself the time and space to learn and explore the software.

Thanks very much! I know this is very individual but roughly how long do I need to study?
This is not something that would affect my decision to learn it but to sort of plan/manage expectations

It is very individual. I studied some of the suite at a-level so I was halfway there with the understanding of other elements of the suite and picked them up quickly. I don't have a qualification as such that is based on CC, but I do have a degree.

My team all learn differently - some will pick it up themselves and take a weekend to learn, others will do a tutorial every other night over a series of months. And previously I've had a team member who found it easier to go on a four day fully immersive short course.

What were you planning to do with the software once you've got an understanding of it?

I am not 100% sure, but I did see an interior design job ad and it knowledge of this programme was a requirement. What else is it used for? I enjoy procreate but as a hobby. Can it be used for graphic design?

Thank you very much! I think I should look into an intensive course that way I'll push myself to do it

It can be used for most creative roles I'd imagine. My team are graphic designers, animators and illustrators and all use the suite. I also know jewellery designers who use it to mock various pieces up. Interior design, set design and visual merchandisers also use the suite for various areas of their work from experience.

You do need to regularly keep up to date with new trends and software updates too.

I'd imagine most creative roles will need a portfolio demonstrating experience where possible Smile
